Poppy Tilda

Good morning everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted anything for a few days, I haven't been able to get much crafting done this week. I've finished a card this morning though using Poppy Tilda (I'm really still trying to get to grips with the Inktense pencils!). I wouldn't normally think to use this colour scheme but I recently decided to treat myself to some more Maja Design papers and the colours in the Life in the Country pad really inspired me to have a change! I've used a Magnolia DooHickey die for the butterflies and added Walnut Stain Distress Ink to the edges. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and I've also used:
Pearls - Samuel Taylors
Hessian ribbon, seam-binding, hat pin, baker's twine and red twine - Ribbon Girl
Roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
Poppies - LOTV shop

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Ribbon Girl - Magnolia only: add a die-cut
A Creative Romance - Show us your colours
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Thank you so much for visiting, I really appreciate it!

Rebecca.

  2. Hi Rebecca, Gorgeous card and I know how difficult it is to get used to these pencils. I have just returned from a holiday in Cumbria, where we went to the Derwent Water Pencil Museum. We saw a video on how these pencils are made. No wonder they are rather expensive!! I bought a set and a card pad to use them with. I had a practice and I found the best way, is to use super smooth water colour card. Then using a damp paint brush, I took the colour from the pencil with the brush to the paper. It was the only way I found, to be able to shade properly. Hope this helps. Hugs, Carol S.xx

  17. Good afternoon Rebecca,
A stunning card so wonderfully coloured and fantastic design.
I have just managed to get into colouring using my Pens. I have beautiful box of Prisma Pencils that I am putting off using. l I get them out, admire them, then put them away again, so silly I know.
    Have a great week ahead
