Magic is believing in yourself...

Hi everyone,
I'm feeling organised this week so I finally had some time to use my first Stempelglede stamp:

I wanted to play along with the challenge over at the Stempelglede blog and here is the mood board I used for inspiration:

2015 © Stempelglede

I've used the bottom colour scheme and my favourite images were the lace and windows so they influenced my choice of paper and embellishments.

I've added Diamond Dust to the star and flowers to get that frosty texture from the first window. I've also tried to get a cracked paint effect on my frame by adding Crackle Accents to a layer of gesso (with a little paint dabber over the top to soften the gloss) and you can just about see it in this photo:

Here's the list of everything I've used:
Stamp - Stempelglede
Papers - Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics
Frame - Spellbinders
Lace, Diamond Dust, shabby bark star, cheesecloth, frosted berries, gesso, stamp, papers - Live and Love Crafts
Open roses, carnation, cottage rose - Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon - Ribbon Girl
Pearls - Samuel Taylors
Pen Nib - Tim Holtz
(The Frantage is a mixture of Chunky White and Aged Silver)

There is also a giveaway taking place at the Stempelglede blog and you can find a link to it here.

Thank you so much for stopping by and making my day with your lovely comments!

Love Is All Around at Deep Ocean

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't been around to post anything or visit you all for a few days. We've had a bereavement in the family so it's been a tough week and I needed some time out. I really wanted to get back to some crafting though and my first challenge as DT member at Deep Ocean was just the incentive I needed to get going again. Our theme is "Love Is All Around" so I've used Love Balloon (coloured with Inktense pencils) from Lili of the Valley to make an anniversary card. The papers are Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics and have been hand-stitched. I've also used:
Sentiment - Lili of the Valley
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Seam binding, twine, paint dabber - Ribbon Girl
Heart charm (with added Shabby Blue Frantage), sparkly pearl embellishment, laces - Live and Love Crafts
Frame - Spellbinders
Peacock Feather - Magnolia DooHickey
Butterflies - Dutch Doobadoo
Pearls - Samuel Taylors
Pin - from my stash
(Please excuse the slightly wonky photo - it isn't like that in real life!)

I'm so thrilled to be joining this wonderful team today and I really hope you can join us for the challenge - my new teammates have some stunning inspiration for you over at the Deep Ocean blog. We have a fabulous prize of a £10 voucher to spend in the Ribbon Girl store:

I'm entering my card into the following challenge:
Papertake Weekly - Hearts and Flowers

Thank you so much for all your comments on my card for the Live and Love Crafts challenge - they meant so much to me! There's just a few days left to enter my candy here.
